But, if the only thing you are doing on LinkedIn is updating your profile every now and then and waiting for the headhunters and recruiting managers to reach out, you are missing the boat. LinkedIn is a massive database that houses critical elements to your job-search plan and strategy. Unfortunately, many people understand that to mean simply copying the elements of your resume into your LinkedIn profile and thinking you are done and then are astonished that nothing happens. Your LinkedIn profile is social. It is for networking and interacting with a wide variety of people, including hiring authorities. Consequently, it is an important part of the job hunt aside from a formal job request. It allows you to demonstrate what you really care about as a professional, and it can help you build relationships with people who are in a position to positively impact your job search or even hire you. Keeping track of the steps of, and the progress of, your job search is a full-time job, and not always easy to do. Denny has found the software KanbanFlow an excellent online tool for doing so. KanbanFlow is a free product that is internet-based. It is easy to use and provides great visuals for you throughout your search. Denny will introduce the tool, discuss how to use it, and show how she has been using it in her search. If you are in need of help in planning the steps of your search, and keeping it organized, this is the session for you. Additional information is available at: www.psgcnj.biz.  PSGCNG meets every Monday, except holidays.  The meeting will be at First United Methodist Church of Somerville, 48 West High Street, Somerville, NJ 08876.
