Troubling Observation

Many unemployed people simply do not seem interested in rejoining the workforce.  This is very disconcerting to me at a time when so many families are barely surviving financially.

Maintenance Mechanic Needed

Our well established client has 1st shift (permanent) opportunity for Maintenance Mechanic w/3-6 yrs. exp. in troubleshooting, repair, and PM of packaging, processing and production machines; electrical troubleshooting and repair; CMMS and computer literacy.; parts inventory management; regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, etc.); building and facility upkeep. HVAC and / or plumbing knowledge a plus. Prior production exp, in pharmaceutical, foods, or related industry helpful. Must reside within realistic commuting range of Somerset County NJ. Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties is offering a Job Seekers Success Group for active job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change. The next group will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at JFS, 150-A West High Street, Somerville, NJ. The topic for this session is “Hit a HOMER in Interviews” presented by John Hadley, Career Search Counselor. While you can’t predict everything that will happen in a particular interview, the better you understand the natural structure and dynamic of the interview process, the more prepared you will be to do an outstanding job and land the offer. We are seeking a Data Entry Clerk to join our client's  team in Manhattan! You will be responsible for accurate data entry, file maintenance, and some outbound calling to verify information.

  • Enter variety of data using current technology
  • Prepare and sort documents for data entry
  • Call insurance companies as needed to request and / or verify data
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in data entry  of at least 2 years
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Solid communication skills

Networking Event in NYC

DESCRIPTION

The Black is Tech Conference will bring thousands of tech enthusiasts in the Black Community for a day of exhibitions, seminars and everything tech.

This event is a continuation of the movement to create a stronger presence of the black community in the tech ecosystem.

The event will include Seminars and Panel Discussions led by seasoned Tech Entrepreneurs in the tech community (Some of the names you already know. TBA). There will also be a large exhibit Hall of Startups with black founders as well as some of the popular tech companies in the industry.

There will be smaller talk sessions on the current state of tech and other trending topics including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and more. There will be games, networking and more at this event. The Black is Tech Conference hopes to be an all -inclusive event that touches various areas of technology.

Note: We are not making this event only for the Techie. This is for anyone who is excited about technology and the many ways it has and continues to make the world a much better place. It will also be a good platform to show the contributions of the black industry to technology. There is a little tech in all of us... So Techies and Non-Techies are welcome.
