Opportunity Does Not = Entitlement!

As the link below will demonstrate in detail, Hard Rock Casinos is doing a great thing and offering the opportunity to apply for jobs to former employees of the company who previously owned the property.  As someone who was involved in staffing a large retail property in Atlantic County NJ many years ago, I experienced challenges with the former employees of the prior tenant.  They assumed they would automatically be hired at the same pay-rate to do exactly the same work as they did before and most were totally inflexible.  As a result, a large percentage were not hired by the new company.  It is important to understand that different employs have different guidelines to follow in their hiring processes and candidates must be open-minded.  The entitlement mindset could open up opportunities for others to step in front of former workers to fill such jobs.

Quick Thought

NEVER volunteer your age during interviews, at networking groups, on your resume and anywhere else you might be related to job search activity.

Inbox or Junk Pile?

Resumes should be treated as your personal marketing brochure.
Compare your personal resume to the junk mail you recycle daily and see if it lands in your inbox or junk mail pile!
