Living in a world composed of social media, apps, WiFi, etc., there is no excuse for missing an interview appointment or phone interview.  Just about everyone has the ability to text, email, message, tweet, call, etc. Vanishing acts have never been acceptable during the interview process but in today's world they are completely inexcusable. #jobsearch #question #interview #call #email #message #socialmedia #vanishing

But having a profile is not enough; it is ALL about being found. This highly interactive session is designed to help you understand the dynamics of LinkedIn and how to position yourself for success. If you cannot be found, you cannot be considered for a position.  There are a number of reasons why your profile might not appear in a search. Alex will reveal how to break through these impediments so that YOU make a recruiter's search list. And not all components of your LinkedIn profile are created equal. In this presentation, you will learn which elements of your profile weigh more heavily in searches and which sections require your attention first. Alex will provide tips and easy-to-use tools that you can use right away to optimize your profile, giving you a distinct competitive advantage. Few spend much time cultivating their headline, often inserting their last job title. But this important piece of real estate is how viewers define you, often within seconds. Learn how to structure a strong, compelling headline that has the viewer wanting to learn more about YOU. During this session, participants will: 1) Evaluate the role of LinkedIn in a job search, 2) Understand how to structure their profile to be found, 3) Learn how to address job transitions and unemployment, 4) Experience a recruiter's view of a candidate, 5) Distinguish an optimized profile from a poor one, and 6) Acquire free tools and techniques to create a stand out profile. Please feel free to forward this note to anyone that you think would benefit from joining us. Friday, September 20th, from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon:  The ChemPharma Association’s Philadelphia Chapter will host David Light, who will give a presentation titled: Burning My Resume. My talk is a about restoring confidence and a bias to action by overcoming the self-inflicted damage done by chronic uncertainty. I focus on the tools for elevating mindset above the resume-identity that causes confusion and inaction. To achieve the certainty summit in work or work-search means being prepared to overcome the mental habits that limit perspective and burdensome misjudgments and conventional assumptions that de-energize and demotivate.   My talk maps a route of ascent to certainty enabling you to skillfully overcome the impediments to feeling: 1) confident in your thinking, words and actions; 2) confident in your relationships with your colleagues and network, your employers, and most importantly – yourself; 3) confident that the work you do all day focuses on manifesting the best efforts of your natural talents and acquired skills. Some of the key questions I cover are:
·         Is my resume-identity sabotaging me?
·         Why is action the antidote for uncertainty?
·         What is my compass of action?
·         What is brain gaming?
·         How do I learn to train my brain for certainty and confidence?
·         What is The Certainty Principle?
·         What is my personal horizon and why is it so important?
·         How do I right-size my identity for optimal performance?
·         What are the important differences between what I think I did (my resume) and what I do?
·         The Velcro Effect: Why do I feel stuck?
·         Why am I afraid of professional conversations?
·         Why do I feel frustrated in my work?
·         Why do I seem to be accomplishing so little?
·         How do I make a human connection in a 5-minute conversation?
·         What is the central question all job interviews are really asking?
·         What is the most important and unspoken motive behind every professional interaction?
·         How to do I make myself memorable?
·         How do I become free of care and expectation?
