My college alma mater, Franklin and Marshall, recently announced a partnership w/ Harrisburg (PA) Area Community College. Any honors student who completes two full semesters can transfer automatically to F&M and be eligible for financial aid and scholarships. When I graduated from high school in the 70's, many frowned upon community colleges. Happily, things changed and the proper respect is now being given. It takes a heck of a lot to be an honors student anywhere and it is about time this is being recognized. Community colleges, vocational schools, proprietary trade schools all play a critical part in educating tomorrow's talent.
