Promises, Promises!

Job creation? Salary growth? Career oriented education? These are promises we hear every four years from just about every Presidential candidate.  Today was no exception as Michael Bloomberg's promotional peace promises all of the above as part of his campaign goals. From my vantage point of over three decades in the staffing world, I have yet to see the total package from anyone who has run for the top office regardless of party.  Job creation needs to be better defined.  If a President focuses their efforts on creating jobs in the construction industry, for example, and we have a shortage of experienced workers, nothing has been accomplished.  If the average unemployed computer programmer was used to earning $90K annually and the bulk of IT jobs created pay $40K, we have a different problem.  Promises without any backbones will not significantly upraise the world of many others.
