I have heard those lines, and many similar versions, for over thirty years. Guess what? That is not how it works (remembering the old ETrade commercials)!

The only way you will succeed in your job search is to fully immerse yourself and take charge. Certainly, career coaches, staffing firms, unemployment counselors, networking groups, etc. are all must have resources but you need to be the navigator and coordinator.
